Wombeyan Caves
Wombeyan Caves
is one of our favourite strategic retreats.
Only 45 minutes from Sydney, but a thousand miles from care!
From Bankstown, track out via Choppers South.
It's always fun to cross three live runways!
Here's a DC-3 touching down below us.

Track west to Lake Burragorang...
Then turn south.
Keep between the cliffs and you can't get lost!
Coming up on our right hand side is the Tonali River, which winds
its way up to
Yerranderie
On our left hand side is Bonnum Pic... incredible!
Track southwest along the Wollondilly River then hop over the mountain to the rejoin it...
It should look something like this.
Aha, it's Wombeyan Caves!

Now to get in there...
Got to keep over those poplars!
The campers usually enjoy the fun.
(As long as you didn't blow over their tents...)
After some strategic reflection, it's back to Bankstown!
As usual, IFR all the way!
Turn right at 2RN and left at the sewerage ponds...
... and aim for KFC.
Don't forget to dodge the light aircraft.
(Zoom in: he's airborne)
All in all, a great destination! We highly recommend it!
