Romeo 405B

Romeo 405 is a great place to take Sydney Harbour photographs. A helicopter/seaplane route, it runs from Sydney Heads along the harbour to the Harbour Bridge, then up the Paramatta River, ducking under Sydney Airport's north/south runway glidepaths.

Start from Sydney Heads: Enter at 1000 feet from Victor 1 and follow the harbour west towards the Harbour Bridge. (This is my favourite photo!)

Track towards the Opera House: What a great view!

Over Fort Denison: Keep between Fort Denison and the Opera House. Gently descend to avoid the floatplanes that orbit Fort Denison on descent to Rose bay.

Watch out for the Channel 9 helicopter that doesn't make radio calls!

Pass the Opera House: It's amazing that we are allowed to fly so close to this landmark building!

Past the CBD...

Track for the southern pylon...

... and cross the harbour bridge: Cross at 500 feet and wave to the brideclimbers (that company must be making a fortune!)

Cross the bridge: Track into R405A.
(Watch out for fireworks!)
